STEP UP FOR KIDS IN WV!

Thank you for your interest in making sure that children remain a focus of the coming elections. This site is a tool to help communities across West Virginia plan and implement their election activities. There is no more important investment than our nations’ future: our children.

On Tuesday, September 16, Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia participated in the national, non-partisan “Step Up For Kids Day” being held across the nation and presented a discussion event called  "Living in Exponential Times: What Does it Mean for Our Children?" at the Clay Center for the Arts & Sciences in Charleston. Speakers included First Lady Gayle Manchin, and the event was moderated by Tom Heywood. Panelists included Jeff James, Dr. Isabel Pino, Gerry Sawrey, Kenny Perdue, Sarah Bailey, and Rev. Matthew J. Watts. Click here to view video clips of the discussion.

Step Up for Kids Day was led by the national, non-partisan group “Every Child Matters Education Fund.” Because of their work, on September 16, people in 48 states and the District of Columbia participated in events aimed at drawing attention to the needs of children and asking elected officials to support new investments in children and families. Prevent Child Abuse West Virginia was the sponsor of activities in our state. But we are just getting started!
