Additional support for the Chesapeake Strong Families Festival was provided by the Claude Worthington Benedum Foundation.

The Chesapeake Energy Strong Families Festival is a celebration of West Virginia’s greatest strength - its children and families. Held in conjunction with the Met-Rx World’s Strongest Man international athletics competition hosted in Charleston September 6-14, the Festival provides family centered activities and information for event spectators.

As the Met-Rx World’s Strongest Man event brings worldwide attention to West Virginia, the Chesapeake Energy Strong Families Festival showcases the state’s greatest resource by focusing on the importance of the well-being of children and families. Events and activities are designed to strengthen family bonds and encourage community support. Because strong families build strong communities, West Virginia’s family and community values are key to its present and future successes.

Chesapeake Energy’s partner in designing the Strong Families Festival is TEAM for West Virginia Children. TEAM works to give children good beginnings by strengthening families and communities. Chesapeake Energy is sponsoring the Strong Families Festival as part of its ongoing commitment to the social and economic development of the communities it serves.
