You can follow the 2008 Legislature and contact your legislators through the online West Virginia Legislative Action Center on Children and Families. It's up to date and easy to use. Here's all you need to do:
- Access the site by clicking here.
- Select an action alert from the home page or "Issues and Legislation" tab
- Read alert and to contact legislators, enter your zip code.
- Pick from list of sample letters or click to compose your own. If you pick a sample letter, you will be provided a list of talking points you can insert in your message, as well as edit or add information. Then press "submit".
- This last screen will display your legislators' names, allow you to choose which ones you want to send your message to, and give you the choice of sending an e-mail or printing a letter. You can also edit your message again before sending.
Legislative alerts and updates will be provided at the site and via e-mail by the Legislative Action Team for Children and Families. This information is brought to you by the Legislative Action Team for Children and Families, whose members include the National Association of Social Workers - WV Chapter, Prevent Child Abuse WV, the WV Alliance for Sustainable Families, WV Coalition Against Domestic Violence, WV Fair Shake Network, WV Healthy Kids and Families Coalition and WV KIDS COUNT Fund. The site is managed by Prevent Child Abuse WV.
